Director of Operations | EMDR | Somatic Experiencing | Premarital Counseling | DBT-Informed
No one is so untouched by brokenness that they cannot benefit from counseling. And no one is so broken that they are beyond help. I long for people to not just survive, but to thrive.
Since 2008, I have served in a variety of settings helping others cope with life difficulties, heal from emotional wounds, and grow in understanding of themselves. With a passion for teaching, I have spoken at local, regional, and national conferences about topics involving emotional, spiritual, and mental health. I have enjoyed leading workshops and seminars for smaller, local organizations.
I am also a DBT skills trainer and run skills groups twice a year where clients can learn practical ways of managing emotional reactions in a class-like setting.
I primarily work with adolescents, adults, and couples who feel “stuck” and want to grow. In my office, you can expect me to create a safe space for you to be yourself without fear of judgment. You can trust I will empathically listen and gently question assumptions (when appropriate). I also believe there is value in a little playfulness and humor within the therapeutic relationship.
While I tend to draw heavily from cognitive behavioral, emotionally focused, and family systems models of therapy, I recognize that every person has a unique story and different needs. My ultimate desire is to work myself out of a job by having you reach your therapeutic goals. Whether you have been in counseling for years or you are thinking about counseling for the first time, I would be privileged to help you discover your dignity and live in confidence.
