When most people think about therapy, they think of sitting down and talking through problems. This can be part of the process, however, child and teen brains do not always connect in that way. Revision connects with your child or teen through various methods - images, play, music, art, games, dance, sand. We are processing, learning to manage emotions, building trust and strengthening your child’s sense of self to get to the change that is needed.

First we will get some basic information from you through email or a phone call (however you are most comfortable) on why you are seeking help for your youth and what type of counselor would make him/her feel the safest.
A Revision intake counselor will recommend the best fit for you and your youth and connect you with your new counselor. Your counselor will likely suggest an initial session with the caregiver (for a child) or both the caregiver and teen. For divorced caregivers, we typically extend the invitation to both.
Your counselor will work to meet the child or teen where they are at to create warmth and attachment. Your counselor will also work with the caregiver(s) to inform, teach, model the work done with your child or teen so that your bond can strengthen as your child or teen accomplishes their goals.
Attachment is the connection we have with others that helps us feel safe, seen, understood, and felt. With positive attachment, your youth will have higher self-esteem, feel safe enough to take the risks needed to grow and make the changes needed to thrive.
