There is a fire burning in each of us that longs to be tended and nurtured, to burn bright and provide warmth for ourselves and others.
I felt this fire deep within ever since I was a child. However, it was often met by others with resignation, fear, or rejection. Because of this, I stopped trusting myself and began to believe that I was bad or broken. Eventually, I lost the ability to discern where these beliefs ended and my true self began. Slowly, over time, I learned to dim my fire.
Healing began when I encountered a safe person who was able to fan the flames of who I was, not who the world wanted me to be. I was met with curiosity, care, and delight that emboldened me to begin wrestling with my own story, providing me with the context and language that I was never bad, that others simply did not know what to do with my flame.
Perhaps you have your own stories—where you, like me, were taught to believe lies about your personhood and the trust you had in yourself began to diminish. If this is your story, let me be the first to welcome you here. I get it, I have been there, and healing is possible.
As a human far before becoming a therapist, I work from a place of trust—trust that each person has a fire burning in them that is good and is waiting to be released, seen, and nurtured. I aim to walk with clients through their fires by rebuilding what has been lost and moving towards flourishing together.
In our sessions, we will use an integrative approach of evidence-based theories and techniques such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Attachment Theory, Narrative Therapy, Somatic (Body) Work, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) as tools for engaging your unique story. While I see clients from a variety of backgrounds who want to work on a range of goals, my specialties include:
Your full self is welcome in this space. What an honor to be able to meet you, together.
